This film has three main elements. The “Secure” HoloKote panel, the colour dye film and the retransfer film.The colour dye film has four essential panels for printing full colour designs; yellow, magenta, cyan and black.
As the Magicard Ultima is a retransfer printer, this means it uses retransfer print process. With this, the card design is printed on to the retransfer film which is then laminated onto the plastic cards. During the print process a “Secure” HoloKote panel is also printed onto the cards. This is printed onto the card in a frosted clear overcoat, which results in a watermark like layer. When the card is tilted the HoloKote watermark becomes clear.
